Euphorbia, White Ghost
Scientific Name: Euphorbia lactea "white ghost"
Common Name: White Ghost Euphorbia, Candelabra Cactus, Dragon Bones, Mottled Spurge, Hatrack Cactus
The Euphorbiaceae family has over 5,000 species of plants that vary wildly from weeds, to shrubs or trees to ground cover, all the way over to succulents with cactus-like characteristics. The Euphorbia genus is also commonly named spurge, although some species would not necessarily be included in that name.
The White Ghost Euphorbia often gets mistaken for a cactus due to its tall, upright & branched growth pattern, but it is actually a succulent. The White Ghost is a unique and relatively rare species with a mottled green/gray and white variegation that adds pizazz to any houseplant collection.
Basic Care Notes: Well-draining soil like a cactus mix, loves indirect bright light. Water infrequently, once soil is completely dry and when the leaves are a little squishy to the touch.
Watering test: Gently squeeze. If it is firm, it doesn't need water, but if it feels squishy or look a little wrinkly, give your Euphorbia a drink
