Agave, Alba
Scientific Name: Agave isthmensis f. mediopicta alba
Common Name: Alba Agave, Century Plant, White Stripe Century Plant
Agave plants are a very popular choice for indoor plant collectors, and these do particularly well as a terrarium plant due to their slow-growing nature and low-maintenance requirements.
The Alba Agave, also known as White Stripe Century Plant, is a cute little compact succulent with green and gray-green variegations. Mature plants have long leaves that grow out from the central rosette, but most indoor versions are small with rounded leaves that end in a point.
Basic Care: Water infrequently - overwatering is a common problem for all succulents. Use very well-draining soil, such as a cactus mix or something similar. Agave plants love lots of bright sunlight and can handle direct sunlight but they can tolerate indirect bright light indoors as well.
Watering test: Gently squeeze the leaves. If they're firm, they don't need water, but if they feel softer or look a little wrinkly, give your succulent a drink!
