Cactus, Cuddly
Scientific Name: Cereus jamacaru
Common Names: Cuddly Cactus
Cacti have become a beloved choice for indoor plants due to their minimal upkeep and vast array of species with unique growth patterns. Plus, their playful and quirky aesthetics are sure to make you smile (and maybe even do a double take)!
The Cuddly Cactus is known for its lack of spines (which makes it kid- and pet-friendly), and its cute rounded columnar look. This is a great addition to any desk, window sill or bookshelf.
Basic Care: Desert-dwelling cacti are low-maintenance, and as a result, sometimes they accidentally get completely neglected, so don't forget about your new addition! Use a very well-draining soil, such as a cactus mix. Water when soil is completely dry, which is usually about once a month in the average indoor environment. Lots of bright, indirect light is ideal for most cacti, and they will struggle without enough sunlight.
Watering Test: If your cactus is squeezable - without getting poked - give it a gentle squeeze. If it feels squishy or looks wrinkly, it needs a watering.
