Philodendron, Prince of Orange
Scientific Name: Philodendron erubescens "prince of orange"
Common Name: Philodendron Prince of Orange
Philodendrons are a very popular and easy-care houseplant with a ton of variety across the different species within the family. They all come from tropical or subtropical climates and love humidity (and are great plants to have in your bathroom as a result).
Each Philodendron has its own growth pattern and leaf style, which makes these all the more fun to collect. Some are natural trailers or climbers, and others grow straight up or even creep.
The Prince of Orange Philodendron looks like a campfire from afar. Each new leaf is a vibrant orangey red color, that slowly changes to green as it matures, so you always have a variety of different colors on your plant. Very fun and easy to take care of.
Basic Care Notes: Low to indirect bright light, avoid direct sunlight as their leaves can burn from sun exposure. Philodendrons tolerate a range of watering schedules but prefers to be watered when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. They also love humidity, so misting them regularly is great.
