Pilea "Dark Mystery"
Scientific Name: Pilea hitchcockii 'Dark Mystery'
Common Name: Dark Mystery Pilea, Lizard Tail Pilea
The Dark Mystery Pilea is a unique pilea that is believed to have originated in Ecuador. It's foliage resembles a lizard's tail (hence one of its nicknames). The elongated leaves are a beautiful chocolatey-purpley brown with serrated edges. Newer growth shows up a lighter pink shade and darkens as it matures.
Fun fact: These were propagated for us by one of our very own in-house plant wizards!
Basic Care Notes: Bright indirect light, keep soil evenly moist, try not to let it dry out completely. We recommend more frequent lighter watering habits. Both under- and over-watering are common issues with this species!
