Agave, Queen Victoria
Scientific Name: Agave victoriae-reginae
Common Name: Queen Victoria Agave
Agave plants are a very popular choice for indoor plant collectors, and these do particularly well as a terrarium plant due to their slow-growing nature and low-maintenance requirements.
The Queen Victoria Agave grows from a central rosette, and has long dark green leaves with light green variegations and white "distressed-looking" marks along the edges of the leaves.
Basic Care: Water infrequently - overwatering is a common problem for all succulents. Use very well-draining soil, such as a cactus mix or something similar. Agave plants love lots of bright sunlight and can handle direct sunlight but they can tolerate indirect bright light indoors as well.
Watering test: Gently squeeze the leaves. If they're firm, they don't need water, but if they feel softer or look a little wrinkly, give your succulent a drink!
