Ritters Garden and Gift appreciates enthusiastic people with a strong interest in Northwest plants and gardening. Previous retail experience is preferred, and plant knowledge is helpful. We are especially interested in hearing from horticulture students seeking part-time work while they are in school; however, we welcome applications from all plant lovers interested in working at Ritters.

We are always accepting applications. Our gift shop and garden center are open year-round, with peak seasonal hiring typically occurring between February and April. We offer a variety of year-round and seasonal employment opportunities across multiple departments and functions. We are open seven days a week (except select holidays), and weekend availability is a must for every department.

Year-Round Positions: 

Garden Center Associate ~ Full Time & Part Time

The Garden Center Associate role involves providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, answering phones, and assisting customers with questions about products and services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment, and maintains a positive, customer-focused attitude.

Prior experience with computer-based cash registers, retail, or customer service is preferred. Gardening experience and plant knowledge are a plus.

This position is based in a retail garden center environment and may involve working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, handling products and merchandise, and working in a fast-paced setting.

Greenhouse Associate ~ Full Time & Part Time

Greenhouse Associate responsibilities include caring for plants through watering and general maintenance, assisting customers with the selection and sale of annuals and houseplants, and keeping the greenhouse clean and organized. The ideal candidate enjoys working with plants, takes pride in maintaining a welcoming environment, and provides friendly customer service.

Prior greenhouse, nursery, or retail experience is preferred. Cash handling experience, gardening experience, and plant knowledge are a plus. 

This role is performed in a greenhouse setting and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and natural elements. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of plants and related materials.

Seasonal Positions: 

Nursery Sales Associate ~ Full-Time & Part Time

Nursery Sales Associate responsibilities include assisting customers with the selection and sale of trees, shrubs, perennials, and other nursery stock, maintaining plant health through general care and upkeep, and keeping the nursery area clean and organized. The ideal candidate has prior nursery or gardening experience, enjoys working outdoors, and provides friendly, knowledgeable customer service.

Previous nursery sales or horticultural experience is preferred. Strong communication skills and an interest in sales are important for success in this role.

This position requires the ability to safely lift and move heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday. Work is performed outdoors and requires the ability to tolerate varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and other seasonal elements.

Nursery Delivery & Planting Specialist ~ Full Time & Part Time

Nursery Delivery & Planting Specialist responsibilities include loading, delivering, and unloading plants, installing plant material in customers’ yards, and ensuring deliveries and installations are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate enjoys physical outdoor work, takes care in handling plants, and provides friendly, professional customer service during each delivery or installation.

Prior nursery, delivery, or related experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. Gardening or horticultural experience is a plus.

This position requires the ability to safely lift and move heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday. Work is performed outdoors and requires the ability to tolerate varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and other seasonal elements.

Nursery Support Associate ~ Full-Time & Part Time

Nursery Support Associate responsibilities include loading and unloading nursery products, assisting with cart runs, stocking and restocking plant material, and helping move and organize merchandise throughout the nursery. This role also supports daily watering, basic plant care, and provides friendly assistance to customers as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, enjoys hands-on outdoor work, and contributes to a clean, organized, and welcoming nursery environment.

Prior retail, customer service, or merchandising experience is preferred. Gardening experience and plant knowledge is a plus.

This position requires the ability to safely lift and move heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday. Work is performed outdoors and requires the ability to tolerate varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and other seasonal elements.
