Hoya, Krimson Queen
Scientific Name: Hoya carnosa
Common Name: Krimson Queen Hoya, Porcelain Flower, Wax Plant
Hoyas are well-loved by many plant collectors around the world. They originate from many Asian countries and some variations hail from Australia. They are climbing/vining plants and in nature are often found living their best life on trees. Hoyas generally have thick, succulent leaves and mature plants can have vines that can be well over 10 feet long.
The Krimson Queen Hoya is fairly slow growing, but mature plants will produce porcelain white flowers in bunches. The leaves are beautiful on their own, with creamy white variegations on green leaves, with pink tint throughout.
Basic Care: Hoyas need very well-draining soil and since they are a succulent, they will absorb water into their leaves to hold on to. Water when soil is completely dry. Hoyas love bright light, but can tolerate low light as well. They also prefer humidity but can tolerate lower humidity environments.
